- Total Remuneration $126,364 to $149,350 pa (including salary of $106,780 to $126,203 plus 17% superannuation and leave loading)

We are seeking 2 x highly passionate and skilled individuals to join our Office of Indigenous Engagement team as a Lecturer in First Nations Studies and a Lecturer in First Nations Research at either our Cairns, Townsville, or Rockhampton campus.

POSITION 1 – LECTURER – FIRST NATIONS STUDIES
As the Lecturer – First Nations Studies, you will provide scholarly leadership and make a significant contribution to teaching expertise in Australian First Nations studies. This rewarding role involves designing, delivering, and supporting various professional development programs, courses, and unit offerings focused on First Nations Cultural Competency. Developing cultural competency via the First Nations Cultural Competency Framework is foundational to ensuring that culturally safe practices are embedded into all business areas, and that both our staff and graduates acquire the skills and attributes necessary to meet the cultural standards of their chosen profession.
You will use your specialist knowledge and understanding of First Nations Studies to contribute to institutional projects that develop CQUniversity as a leader in First Nations teaching, learning and research. You will work collaboratively to support academic and research staff to review the quality of learning and teaching and research resources and activities to drive improvements.
Position Requirements
- Doctoral qualification or equivalent plus significant experience in First Nations related discipline area.
- Familiarity with tertiary education regulatory bodies and the ability to implement into curricula design.
- Graduate Certificate in Tertiary and Adult Education or equivalent (or a willingness to complete one).
- Proven ability to contribute to curriculum development, writing and evaluation, particularly using flexible modes of delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate university students with experience engaging with tertiary students and supporting their educational development through multi-modal delivery strategies.
- Proven record in scholarship and/or research and a commitment to advances in the scholarship of learning and teaching.
- Ability to make a positive contribution to a team culture through effective communication and interpersonal skills.

POSITION 2 – LECTURER – FIRST NATIONS RESEARCH
As the Lecturer – First Nations Research, you will provide scholarly leadership and make a significant contribution to research expertise in First Nations studies.
