Our Legal Services Department, which is part of the Office of the General Counsel, is responsible for providing advice on a wide range of legal matters across the University’s 14 faculties and extensive professional services departments.About the roleWe’re looking for a legal professional with significant commercial property law experience to play a key role within our Legal Services team. This job will primarily involve working closely with UCL’s Estates Department on legal issues relating to UCL’s extensive and complex property portfolio.This is an exciting, high-profile job which will involve giving legal advice to some of UCL’s most senior stakeholders. This will include advising on a range of commercial property related issues such as large and / or complex commercial purchases, sales and leases; development and construction projects (including planning); and general property portfolio and asset management.A full list of duties is on the attached job description.This is a Grade 10 post which will pay a salary of between £75,000 and £85,000.About youTo do this job you will need to be a qualified solicitor with significant post-qualification experience gained at a high calibre law firm, or equivalent in-house role, focussing on commercial property law. You’ll have experience dealing with a range of legal issues on a self-standing basis, a willingness to take on new tasks in unfamiliar areas, and to react confidently and quickly to emerging issues.You will be solutions focussed, have up to date technical knowledge, excellent analytical skills, sound judgement, and demonstrable experience working with and influencing at management level.Please review the job description, paying particular attention to the essential and desirable criteria, and ensure these are covered in your application.What we offerAs well as the exciting opportunities this role presents, we also offer some great benefits some of which are below:
