If you’re looking to make a real impact in a fast-paced, dynamic environment-this is your chance!WHAT’S THE MISSION FOR THIS ROLE?As Legal Counsel – Commercial, you will be a front-line contact within the Commercial Business Unit of Pentland’s legal team . You will provide legal advice and support across a wide range of areas including; E-commerce, Digital, IT, MarTech, Sports Marketing, Licensing and Wholesale Distribution. The role will focus on a range of contractual and advisory legal support including E-commerce support, IT / Technology contracts, data protection, international distribution and licencing agreements including advising on competition law related issues.WHAT DOES THIS ROLE DO?As Legal Counsel Commercial you will be:

• Drafting and negotiating high-value contracts-including software development, SaaS, consultancy, and e-commerce agreements.
• Advising on consumer protection, adtech, and marketing technologies, helping us connect with customers in the right way.
• Supporting sales and commercial teams on contracts, operational issues, and terms & conditions of sale.
• Partnering with Business Development teams across EMEA, Asia & the Americas to negotiate licensing and wholesale distribution deals.
• Navigating e-commerce law, data protection, and privacy compliance to support our online growth.
• Negotiating strategic partnerships with major online retailers and marketplaces.

Delivering competition law training and driving forward our privacy and security programs.WHAT WILL I BRING TO THE ROLE?

• 2+ years PQE with strong in-house experience (direct or via secondment).
• Expertise in commercial contracts-ideally within retail, FMCG, or a wholesale business model
• A solid understanding of:

• UK & European data protection law (US experience is a plus!).
• Competition law in the UK and EU.
• Intellectual property law, specifically trademarks.
• A commercially savvy, business-minded approach with excellent judgment.
• Highly collaborative, building strong relationships both inside and outside the legal team.
• Adaptable and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
