My client, a boutique law firm based in London, is actively recruiting for someone with two years LEGAL Risk & Compliance experience to join them on a permanent basis – working as their new Compliance Assistant.

As the Compliance Assistant, your role will be to work with the COO, General Counsel and Head of Risk and Compliance (along with the wider team) to ensure that the firm complies with regulations relating to AML and compliance.

You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

– Opening new client matters on the firm’s systems
– Carrying out KYC and ensuring new clients are appropriately vetted
– Conducting AML checks and responding to AML queries from Partners and Fee-Earners
– Assisting with the firms annual internal audit
– Assisting with annual high risk client reviews
– General administrative duties; maintaining records, filing, etc

To qualify for this Compliance Assistant position, you’ll need to have/be the following:

– Have a minimum of 18 months/2 years risk and compliance experience from a law firm
– Be educated to a degree level
– Have strong verbal and written communication skills
– Have good knowledge of Microsoft Office
– Have good knowledge of AML requirements for non-UK based clients
