The Washington, DC office of Venable is looking for a highly motivated and hard-working individual to join or Legislative practice as an analyst. This qualified individual will work with our legislative team on a wide range of issues including commerce, energy, environmental, health care, infrastructure, international relations, technology, and telecommunications. Each interested candidate should submit a cover letter and undergraduate transcripts with their application.
Responsibilities will include:
(i) Monitoring, summarizing, and reporting on introduced legislation and Congressional and agency hearings;
(ii) Researching policy matters;
(iii) Preparing summaries, presentations, and reports involving policy projects for distribution internally, as well as, to clients; and,
(iv) Attending congressional hearings, placing calls, scheduling appointments, meetings and assisting with logistics associated with client events such as Hill Days and briefings (in addition to other responsibilities, as needed).

Venable’s bipartisan Government Affairs Practice includes registered lobbyists, attorneys, and policy advisors who came to the firm from distinguished careers in federal and state government. This team has an extensive network of active contacts from both major political parties on Capitol Hill, the executive branch, and a plethora of key government agencies.
