Leicestershire County Council and its partners at Energy Systems Catapult, the Universities
Partnership, Green Fox Energy and National Grid were recently successful with a £2.53 million
funding bid to Innovate UK from the ‘Pathfinder Places’ fund. We are looking for an experienced
project manager to co-ordinate this funding and deliver this exciting and innovative work for
Leicestershire which will support Net Zero living across the County. If you have a flair for

About the Role

You will have proven experience to manage this fast paced project and co-ordinate 4 separate
work packages which will be delivered by our partners as part of the Leicestershire Collaborate
to Accelerate Net zero (LCAN) Project. You will ensure the project is delivered to the funders
requirements and that all paperwork and financial reporting is met. You will develop
relationships with the project partners and engage with wider stakeholders to ensure the
project is delivered collaboratively. You will procure and manage subcontractors to support
delivery of the work package requirements. You will demonstrate your passion for Net Zero in
the delivery of this opportunity to support the LCAN Partnership to achieve Net Zero for
Leicestershire. 

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

  • Have a degree or project management qualification (e.g. Prince 2, APM) or significant
    demonstrable experience in project management to enable you to successfully manage this large
    scale project for the LCAN partners; demonstrating experience of the management and delivery of
    multi-agency projects and/or projects supported by external funding.
  • Have sound experience in collaborative working with internal and external partners and
    stakeholders to build positive relationships across stakeholders, peers and partners, based on
    trust.
  • Have excellent communication and presentation skills, including being able to provide
    relevant, concise oral and written advice to senior officers, and external partners and the
    media.
  • Be able to coordinate, interpret and write technical and non-technical reports and provide
    advice to partners, stakeholders, seniors managers, Elected Members.
  • Be able to work on a fast paced project, adapting to varying workloads and priorities, work
    to tight timescales and to agreed targets.
  • Have experience of developing and managing procurements and the management of resulting
    consultancy and supply work to deliver elements of a project. 
  • Knowledge and experience of working in a environmental management or climate change role
    particularly with a knowledge of community energy would be beneficial.
