Our structured Apprenticeship Programme covers a variety of personal development and technical training to support your well-rounded development. Our Programme blends practical exposure to enhance your discipline specific abilities whilst enhancing your individual personal development during your early career.

About the team
Over the last 12 months, our Nuclear Business Unit have developed clear, achievable growth plans for the sector. These plans are aligned to the launch of the UK Governments “Great British Nuclear” body, who’s aim is to accelerate the growth of new nuclear in the UK as a secure source of clean, affordable energy.
The HR Apprentice is an important part of our dynamic Nuclear HR team, based in Cumbria but with a national presence.
What will you
be doing?
This entry-level position is your gateway to gaining hands-on experience in various HR functions, ensuring you become a key contributor to our team’s success.
Your time can be split across our functions to provide balanced exposure to them all ahead of focusing on one (or more) discipline(s) as your career plans are developed.
As part of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the Human Resources department in various administrative and operational tasks.
What qualifications
do I require?
· Educated to minimum GCSE level
· Able to work confidentially with sensitive company information
· An interest in working within a construction/engineering environment.
You will need the
ability to:
· Provide seamless administration support for all HR matters.
· Be the first point of contact, offering basic advice and swift responses to inquiries.
· Collaborate with the HR Administrator on employee change requests, new starters, and leaver processing.
· Update our internal database with precision, ensuring accurate employee information.
· Prepare insightful HR-related reports to enhance decision-making processes.
· Conduct audits on employee files, ensuring strict compliance with regulations.
· Support the HR team by adeptly taking notes during meetings.
· Produce and dispatch letters as required, maintaining professionalism at all times.
· Ensure adherence to internal HR processes and procedures, promoting organisational excellence.
· Support the seamless onboarding process for new hires, facilitating a smooth integration.
· Prepare and distribute new hire paperwork efficiently.
· Assist in filing, archiving, and organising HR documentation to maintain an orderly workplace.
