| Primary Purpose of Position | The primary purpose of the Library Security Officer is to maintain security in the library during the overnight hours that the building is open. This position works closely with the Library Security team, the Safety and Disaster Response Committee, and library units as well as campus police, fire safety, environmental health and safety, and emergency management. The library’s security program encompasses the library’s security guards, video surveillance equipment, card access, and intrusion alarms. This position provides daily building patrol services for the library. Serves as responder for building fire alarms, facilities disasters & medical emergencies. The Library Security Officer reports directly to the Library Security Coordinator. |
| Minimum Education/Experience | Required Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalency and demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some positions may require valid N.C. driver’s license.
