Job description
London Interdisciplinary Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership (LISS DTP; https://liss-dtp.ac.uk/ ) is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced individual to this new role of Partnership Coordinator to join the established and successful Economic & Social Sciences Research Council (ESRC) funded multi-institutional collaboration, led by King’s College London in partnership with Queen Mary University of London and Imperial College London.
Under the direction of the DTP Deputy Director (External Partnerships) and the DTP Manager, the role holder will be responsible for the delivery of work relating to the DTP’s Research in Practice strategic priority area. This will include the coordination of interactions between LISS DTP partner institutions and external non-academic partners and other key responsibilities as listed below.

The LISS DTP has a strong institutional commitment to the development of the next generation of social scientists, research leaders, and entrepreneurs with a strong focus on inter-disciplinary research.
The role holder will report to the LISS DTP Manager, and Deputy Director (External Partnerships), and will work closely with the cross-institutional DTP Leadership Team.
The post-holder will be based in the Centre for Doctoral Studies (CDS) with its hybrid working policy and when on campus the post-holder will be based at Lavington Street (currently 1 day a week).
This post will be offered on a permanent contract.
This is a part-time post – 80% full time equivalent.
Key responsibilities
- Working with LISS DTP Manager, create annual operating plan for Research in Practice activities and to deliver the required work packages;
- Coordinate partnership stakeholder management for the DTP, and provide secretarial and administrative support for new External Partner Advisory Board;
- Develop processes and support the operational delivery and increased scale of the DTP’s Research in practice activities (e.g., placements scheme);
- Manage processes (including contractual arrangements) for all placements for LISS DTP students (including evaluation of placements scheme), learning and implementing best practices;
- Manage CASE studentship competition processes (from advertising to making offers and CASE students’ registrations) and post award CASE studentships data records management;
- Work closely with the DTP Assistant Manager (Training) to deliver new and bespoke training opportunities for students to successfully undertake Research in Practice activities;
- Working with the Deputy Director (External Partnerships), design and produce newsletters for LISS DTP non-academic partners;
- Working closely with Contracts team, set up timely Agreements for CASE studentships and for placements, as required;
- Contribute to DTP annual reporting to ESRC and King’s Postgraduate Research Committee, collecting, and analysing relevant data;
- Support the DTP Manager, manage Research in Practise budgets, including CASE studentships funding;
- Set standards and monitoring procedures and contribute to longer-term planning by putting forward recommendations to the DTP’s Core Management Team;
- Be the first point of contact for all non-academic stakeholders of the DTP and for all LISS DTP queries related to Research in Practice activities;
- Deputise for the DTP Manager and other members of the DTP Team, when necessary, on all matters, related to Research in Practice;
- Engage with similar roles across the partners institutions and in the CDS, King’s DTE Managers network and RMID, building internal networks and learning best practices in external partnerships management;
- Undertake continuous personal and professional development, engage in appropriate professional activities to keep their knowledge base and skills up to date;
- Undertake any other duties that might be reasonably requested by the DTP Director, Deputy Director (External Partnerships), and the DTP Manager.
