Literacy for Life’s mission is to improve lives by teaching adults literacy skills required for self sufficiency, better health, and meaningful participation in society. Literacy for Life provides professional instruction and volunteer tutoring in reading, writing, math, English language, citizenship, computer skills, high school completion (GED and NEDP), health literacy, workplace readiness, and preparation for post-secondary programs 
Position Summary Please Note: This is a courtesy posting for Literacy for Life and not a William & Mary position.
Provide administrative support to staff, volunteers, and clients. Manage the facility and resources. Provide reception services to callers and visitors.
Assist with Program Administration
▪ Schedule enrollment appointments. Conduct appointments in cooperation with the Intake and Assessment Coordinator (IAC)
▪ Add clients to the waiting list in consultation with the Human Services Coordinator
▪ Assist with scheduling assessments, intakes and goal reviews
▪ In consultation with the IAC, recommend ESL classes based on assessment results and the client’s schedule
▪ Provide clerical and logistical support to staff, volunteers, and clients
▪ Input accurate class attendance data for the Data Specialist (DS) to access
▪ Coordinate with the DS for personal data and status changes of clients
▪ Enter donation information into donor database and send thank you letters
Manage Office and Resources
▪ Maintain a tidy environment in common areas. Prepare space for meetings, classes, or events
▪ Check library resources in and out and input renewals
▪ Order office supplies
▪ Maintain office equipment and schedule service
▪ Issue and track parking passes in cooperation with William & Mary Parking Services
▪ Receive and sort mail and deliveries
▪ Create and print informational postings
Provide Reception Services
▪ Greet callers and visitors; provide information or direct inquiries appropriately
▪ Communicate reminders and messages among staff, learners, and volunteers 
Required Qualifications Ability to communicate with diverse adult learner and volunteer population essential. Sound knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook. Strong clerical, telephone, and organizational skills. Ability to understand and follow directions; ability to adapt to changing work priorities; ability to multi-task, ability to interact effectively with others; ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment; demonstrated dependability, punctuality, efficiency, and confidentiality. Previous data entry and administrative experience is preferred. Willing to learn new software and procedures. 
Preferred Qualifications Undergraduate degree or equivalent related experience preferred.  Excellent people skills for a diverse population and a working knowledge of Spanish preferred. 
Advertised Pay Range
Advertised Pay Range Statement All hiring rates are commensurate with relevant experience up to the advertised amount considering internal alignment.
