The Role

The Litter Enforcement Officer provides a highly effective and responsive service to prevent litter across the municipaility.
Litter enforcement officers utilise both proactive and reactive litter prevention methods to improve the health of the environment, the amenity of the city and reduce the cost of dumped rubbish to the community.
This includes using a place-based approach to implement litter prevention campaigns which including surveillance, education, and compliance.
The role undertakes prompt and timely investigations relating to complaints about dumped rubbish, arranging for the removal of litter and where appropriate commencing compliance action.
About you
You always act with integrity and you are prepared to speak up for what is right and be a role model to others and the community.
You communicate clearly and respectfully. You can persuade and gain commitment and cooperation from others, including people from a range of diverse backgrounds.
You have well developed written communications skills with the ability to document compliance cases lead to successful penalties and prosecutions.
You maintain a working knowledge and passion about the implementation of litter enforcement campaigns within a local government context.
