Your Opportunity
The Lived Expertise Coach position requires the integration of personal knowledge and skills gained from overcoming the impact of drug and alcohol use and/or mental illness with practical experience and qualification, to provide lived expertise coaching to individuals and groups. The aim of the coaching interventions is to assist individuals experiencing similar adversity, to better lead and manage their own lifestyle and wellbeing in the community.
Your Key Responsibilities will be to:
- Present as a positive role model for consumers and assist them to determine their need and devise coaching plans
- Provide individual and group lived expertise coaching based on practice framework
- Co-design and create opportunities for people to exercise their personal power, rights and responsibilities
- Create and update individual files and ensure the completion of all required internal and external reports
- Actively engage in team and individual supervision and contribute to the effective functioning of the service
- Work collaboratively with internal and external service providers that strengthen to sustain recovery
Requirement for Success
- Personal experience of overcoming adversity (drug and alcohol use) and transfer the learning of these experiences to the role
- Deep understanding of combined lived expertise and professional development
- Minimum of cert IV in peer work plus more than twelve months of lived expertise role
- Well-developed communication skills
- Valid NSW driver’s license
Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people and child-safe certificate.
