What you will do:
- Role and responsibilities
The purpose of the Food Security Project Manager position is to implement programming in Food Security, including cash and voucher assistance for emergency food security objectives, on time, on budget, and with positive impact.
Key objectives for this role include:
- Line management of project staff.
- Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures.
- Contribute to the development of Country, Area and CC strategies, initiate and participate in the development of relevant LFS projects.
- Coordinate and manage LFS project implementation (activities, budget and project documentation) in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements.
- Implement technical direction and ensure high technical quality of projects.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Program Design and Planning:
- In consultation with partners, staff, area office management, LFS Specialist and Cash and Markets Programme Development Manager (PDM), maintain a watching brief on food security, including livelihoods and markets, in the area of operations;
- Partnership Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and coordination throughout program implementation.
- Program Implementation:
- Oversee the implementation of food security programming, including interventions in cash and voucher assistance and market based programming, ensuring adherence to program design, standards, and protocols.
- Lead field colleagues and partners in the planning and execution of food security, cash and voucher, and market support interventions ensuring that implementing teams are aligning with associated programmatic standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning:
- Support and collaborate with NRC’s Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Team in conducting baseline assessments, post distribution monitoring, and relevant analytical activities and ensure the accountability
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation plans to assess program effectiveness, efficiency, and impact.
- Team leadership
- Line management of staff in line with NRC procedures, ensuring NRC is a great employer to work for
- Capacity building, coaching and mentoring of colleagues to ensure performance and growth

What you will bring
Generic professional competencies:
- Bachelors in (agricultural) economics, project management, agriculture, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior level project implementation position in a humanitarian or emergency context;
- Experience from working in complex, volatile and remote contexts.
- Proven experience in emergency food security and/or cash and markets programming.
- Ability to synthesize and communicate complex ideas in a simple manner.
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
- Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:
• Prior experience in Sudan or South Sudan.
• Sudanese Arabic a strong advantage.
• Experience with start up a strong advantage.

- Salary/benefits: grade 8 on NRC’s salary scale.
- Duration of Contract: 12 month renewable.
