Our Local Area Coordinators are passionate about working alongside communities supporting them to achieve their vision of a good life. Working within one of our multi-disciplinary Locality Teams, you will cover the city centre and parts of Abbey and Arboretum electoral wards. We want people who can see the positives and strengths presented by an area that has diverse communities and high levels of deprivation.
We are looking for people with:
- Experience and/or skills to work alongside and support a diverse range of people, including those experiencing mental health issues, older people, people with physical disabilities, families, carers and their local communities
- An understanding and practical experience of advocacy and supporting people to plan for their future in a strength-based way
- Experience and ability to work with a broad range of professionals within the health and social care sector as well as elected members, community leaders, third sector, voluntary, community and faith sectors as well as other organisations and services.
- An ability to demonstrate self-awareness and reflection in relationships with others
- An understanding of and commitment to, the principles and values of Local Area Coordination
- Commitment to support our public services to learn, understand and transform so they are integrated, person centred, and co-produced with communities
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work confidently in challenging environments
- Excellent communications skills with the ability to analyse data and produce clear and concise written reports.
- Commitment to building and developing relationships and recognise this is the key to working with communities and partners.
- Take introductions from services, organisations and local people, support people in the local area to stay strong, build their personal capacity and prevent any need for service interventions by building on their strengths and natural support through local relationships, to ‘Prevent, Reduce and Delay’ service intervention.

Candidates demonstrating the right approach along with the calibre of qualities and skills required, will be supported with training and development opportunities to strengthen their ability to undertake the role.
