Description

Introduction

This project, implemented in partnership with the Building for Peace Facility, focuses on the co-design phase to address critical peacebuilding and development needs in Sinjar, located in Ninewa Governorate, and Daquq, in Kirkuk Governorate, Iraq. The initiative is designed to support locally driven reconstruction and reconciliation efforts while fostering social cohesion, strengthening governance, and improving access to essential services in these conflict-impacted communities.

Through the co-design phase, the project aims to collaboratively develop the Local Peace and Conflict Analysis (LPCA), Technical Assistance Plans (TAPs), and the Full Project Proposal. By engaging with stakeholders, including local communities, authorities, and partners, the project seeks to identify and prioritize solutions that address the underlying drivers of conflict, promote peaceful coexistence, and build sustainable partnerships for long-term impact.

Sinjar and Daquq were chosen for their strategic importance in post-conflict recovery and reconciliation, reflecting the BPF’s commitment to fostering inclusivity, innovation, and relevance in designing impactful interventions.
