We have an exciting opportunity for a Local Service Manager to lead our Supported Living team in Wandsworth and Lambeth. In Wandsworth we provide medium-level, personalised support for adults with mental health needs, and promote physical and mental health and wellbeing to enable our residents to develop their skills, achieve their individual goals and move on to independent living. The Lambeth services deliver intensive housing management for adults with mental health needs.
Set in Earlsfield in the heart of the London borough of Wandsworth, the role is based in John Pounds House, a supported living service which offers on-site support for 20 clients in one-bedroom and studio self-contained flats. Support is also delivered to 4 clients in one-bedroom self-contained flats to a location in Battersea. There are good transport connections (by bus, train and London Underground) to both services.
The role will also oversee the service which provides intensive housing management across the borough of Lambeth where you will work in partnership with the onsite external support provider (who are responsible for the delivery of the support).
The role will require some travelling between services.
As a Local Service Manager, you will be responsible for implementing, delivering and the development of a quality service that meets our customer, organisational and financial needs. You will be responsible for effectively leading staff teams to ensure effective support systems are in place so that all service users receive focused, personalised support.

The role of Local Service Manager will include:
- Leading the overall delivery of the service, through the management of the team and liaison with the Area Service Manager
- Developing and maintaining relationships with service users and relevant external agencies, liaising effectively with statutory and voluntary partners
- Overseeing the overall delivery of the housing management of the property
- Delivering contract KPI’s
- Overseeing the service’s financial performance and managing the budget to maximise income
- Managing the recruitment, performance management and development of staff
- Flexibility around working hours is expected in accordance with the needs of the service
- Responsibility for health and safety in the service
Skills and experiences:
- Previous experience of working in a managerial role within a similar service, you will be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal, leadership and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Compassionate, caring, and hard working with a hands-on approach to care management
- You will have experience of working in a personalised way supporting service users to maximise opportunities for personal development
- Proven ability to liaise effectively with statutory and voluntary partners
- Knowledge and experience of using SAP and other internal systems is desirable
- Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential
