The Logistic Officer is part of the projects support team and part of the projects logistic staff lead by the Senior Logistic Officer (SLO). The position requires:
Good knowledge on logistics and procurement procedures
Excellent cooperating ability, both with national and international personnel
Good written and spoken English, Arabic
Familiarity with commonly used computerized accounting software
Communicative, mature and responsible
Good knowledge of computer software system
General Responsibilities:
Work within the framework of NPA core values
Act as an ambassador for NPA, through professionalism and conduct
Adhere to all NPA policies, regulations and procedures
Maintain and care for all equipment issued by NPA and for any loss or damage, you will be liable for repair or replacement
Follow all verbal and/or written instructions, unless in direct violation of safety and duty of care
Ensure a safe workplace and protect all staff and equipment from damage/ injury
Responsibilities:
Responsible for Assisting & performing all Logistic duties at NPA/Basra Office such as daily entry posting, Warehouse, Inventory control, purchasing etc.
Ensuring that valid bills are received for all payments and that all payments are supported with needed documents.
Under the supervision of SLO, overall responsible for all programme procurement and related issues by adhering to NPA’s logistics, procurement procedures and guidelines.
Organize the purchases in close collaboration with the SLO.
Ensure the respect of NPA procurement procedures
Ensure the quality of purchases and the delivery deadline
Oversee procurement done by the logistics department; ensure that all necessary procedures
Under the supervision of the SLO, responsible for all field stores held by Logistics Department at NPA/Basra
Following up inventory within Basra and Muthana base for field stores and office.
Filing documents, bills, invoices, etc. which related to this job.
Performing any other duties directly related to the position as may be required
Assist management in maintaining all NPA assets and equipment
Perform the task of the Fleet officer when he is on leave or absent
Assisting SLO in Market surveys and Long-Term Contracting
Any other duties assign by SLO and Project Manager
Required Qualifications:
Desirable:
Bachelor of administration and economy
Current driving license and can drive well (manual and automatic)
Ability to travel to Muthanna base, camp or other locations and stay overnight as required
Higher degree
Experience:
Desirable:
1 – 5 years’ experience in this field
Experience in working with International NGO`s
Experience and knowledge in dealing with the local supplier market in Basra
Other Qualifications:
Familiarity with commonly used computerized accounting software
Preference will be given for the candidates who live in Basra
