About the Project:

Mercy Hands is launching a new project in coordination with GIZ: Building Resilient Communities to Prevent Violent Extremism. The project will involve awareness raising and improvement of local activities available to youth and women, who will include IDPs and returnees. Through this, the project will reduce the incentives for vulnerable groups to join extremist organizations, combat and prevent violent extremism and increase social cohesion and tolerance.

The activities will include a community training session, community meetings, improvement of the centres in Jalawla, Alsa’d Iyah and Khanaqin and an art, sport and livelihood activity in each area.

Mercy Hands will hire one Project Manager for this project, to oversee all three centres in Jalawla, Alsa’d Iyah and in Khanaqin.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Purchase and coordinate all materials needed for centre repairs and improvements.
  • Purchase all materials needed for the 9 activities / events to be held at the three centres.
  • Liaise with PM, facilitators and PVE sub-committee to arrange two meetings in each area.
  • Coordinate procurement activities in line with organizational policies.
  • Manage inventory, storage, and distribution of goods
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all logistics operations.
  • Coordinate transportation and delivery of goods to field locations
  • Support tendering processes and vendor management.
  • Ensure compliance with donor and organizational logistics procedures
  • Liaise with program and finance teams to forecast logistics needs
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers.
  • Monitor and report on stock levels, consumption, and asset movement
  • Conduct market assessments to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality of goods and services.
