Location: Smethwick

Salary: £45,000 – £50,000

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Logistics & Facilities Manager on behalf of one of our clients.

To take responsibility of all the daily warehouse, transport and maintenance issues in order to ensure the highest quality and customer service at the lowest cost.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To be responsible for staff efficiency and labour cost management.
• To be responsible for achieving the daily plans and productivity targets.
• To be responsible for handling all personnel issues.
• To be responsible for ensuring staff discipline is maintained.
• To be responsible for accurate Inventory control.
• To be responsible for holding regular team meetings to ensure adherence to the targets and for encouraging a positive and work focused culture.
• To be responsible for creating daily site maintenance plans for engineers.
• To be responsible for ordering spare parts as requested by site engineers.
• To be responsible for organising external contractors to visit site and conduct routine service or breakdown calls.
• To be responsible for site safety, upkeep and security including the yard and parking areas.
• To be responsible for ensuring engineers attend any equipment breakdown needs to reduce production down time.
• To develop a culture of continuous improvement on quality and service.
• To be responsible for driver route planning and scheduling.
• To be responsible for ensuring all transport operating licence needs are correctly administered.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills.
• Must have proven management experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience of VOSA legislation is preferred.
• Computer literate.
• Degree educated is preferable.
• Must be responsible, committed and positive.
