Job Overview/Summary

The Logistics Manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the logistical operations that support the provision of services to beneficiaries served by the IRC in Arizona. The core areas of responsibility cover housing arrangements, procurement and distribution of furnishings and supplies to all new arrivals, client transportation for airport pick-ups and service appointments. The Logistics Manager oversees a team of logistics and/or housing coordinators. This is a full-time position reporting to the Deputy Director of Operations.

Major Responsibilities:

• Provide high level leadership to assigned team including:

o Weekly one on one meetings with all direct reports and regular team meetings with all members

o Effective delegation of duties and responsibilities

o Consistent and ongoing feedback and communication

o Extensive professional development support and coaching of team members

o Lead regular team meetings and provide opportunities for team-building and development

• Coordinate and oversee logistical support of all resettlement services including transportation services

• Secure and set up appropriate, affordable, compliant housing for all new arrivals and act as primary liaison with leasing offices to ensure ongoing quality control

• Ensure compliance with home safety standards and follow up with property management regarding maintenance, safety needs, and client requests regarding housing

• Oversee procurement of supplies for the Reception & Placement program, maintaining accurate inventory of supplies, placing purchase orders, researching vendors for best values and maintaining proper documentation

• Communicate regularly with internal program staff on all operational and processing issues, ensuring strong coordination and exchange of information on client progress

• Communicate regularly with the Deputy Director about all issues of concern

• Ensure an adequate Warehouse Management system to guarantee the efficiency of the distribution management of the IRC program.

• Ensure the necessary logistical knowledge and capacity in the different phases of the Project Cycle Management – PCM.

• Provide support, advice and expertise as required for strategic and policy issues related to logistics.

• Undertake medium to long term planning in relation to logistics requirements.

• Develop logistics capacity of line managers and program staff and new logistics staff in the office.

• Establish appropriate logistics systems and procedures

• Other tasks as assigned

Key Working Relationships

**Position Reports to:**Deputy Director of Operations

**Position directly supervises:**logistics and/or housing coordinators

**Indirect Reporting:**Interns and volunteers

Other Internal and/or external contacts:

Internal: Resettlement, Economic Empowerment, Education & Learning, Youth, Health & Wellness, and Community Integration departments as well as the Finance/Administration and Operations Managers; Liaise with IRC’s Assurances & Travel and Resettlement units

**External:**Other resettlement agency staff, apartment complexes, International Organization for Migration (IOM) staff; community stakeholders, community-based service providers

Job Requirements

• Strong commitment to ensuring the success of the IRC mission while adhering to the values of service, accountability, and integrity as defined in the IRC Way

• Bachelor’s (4-year university) degree required; graduate degree in business, non-profit management, public administration, or other related field preferred

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in refugee resettlement programs or closely related human service programs is highly preferred

• Proven ability to work under pressure with deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment is a must

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to track multiple overlapping services and clients to ensure effective service delivery is critical

• Minimum of two (2) years of professional work experience with progressive levels of responsibility including supervisory and program management experience

• Initiative, creativity, and ability to complete projects independently

• Able to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends and maintaining on-call, backup support

• Must have reliable transportation and maintain valid driver’s license and insurance coverage

• Demonstrated success with supervision, program management, and strategic planning

• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural environment

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (especially Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet-based applications is required; experience with logistics and/or scheduling software is preferred

Working Environment: Standard office work environment

Compensation:

Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.

US Benefits:

The IRC offers a comprehensive and highly competitive set of benefits. All US employees are eligible for sick time, a 403b retirement savings plans: up to 4.5% immediately vested matching contribution, plus an 3-7% additional IRC contribution, and an Employee Assistance Program which is available to our staff and their families to support in times of crisis and mental health struggles.

In addition, full-time employees are eligible for 10 US paid holidays, 20-25 paid time off days, disability & life insurance, medical, dental, and vision insurance (employee contribution starting at $135, $7, and $5 per month respectively) and FSA for healthcare, childcare, and commuter costs. Part-time employees are eligible for a proportionate amount of paid time off. These additional benefits apply to employees who work at least 6 months within a 12 month time period.
