Position Information
UC Riverside’s Campus Business Services is recruiting for a new Logistics and Printing Assistant. The full salary range for the Logistics and Printing Assistant is $19.47 – $24.69 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
At the direction of the Logistics Supervisor and the Director of Campus Business Services (CBS), this incumbent assists in a variety of physical and administrative duties in support of CBS operations including assisting in receiving and delivery of inbound shipments, supporting the pick-up and receiving of campus surplus equipment and public surplus sale operations, and assisting in the processing and printing of academic materials.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California Vaccination Program Policy.

Ability and knowledge required to receive and maintain a forklift operator’s certification.

Demonstrated skill to read and write in the English language, perform mathematical calculations, make comparisons quickly and accurately, and follow oral and written instruction.
A working knowledge of small to medium duty trucks used to transport and deliver supplies and equipment.
Demonstrated skills involving attention to detail, to include data entry, recording, or maintaining information in electronic or written format.
Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing suitable for a customer service operation.
Knowledge of computer applications to include Word, Excel, Outlook.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion, especially with regard to digital print work.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of standard office printers and their finishing functions.

Logistics: Assists with logistics tasks in receiving, inventory, customer service,
and/or order processing. May receive and verify incoming shipments and store
items for processing. Prepares incoming packages/merchandise for storage
and/or delivery. Pack, unpack, and mark items, using identification tag, stamp, or
electronic marking tool or other labeling equipment. Supports the delivery of
heavy and bulky products, supplies, and equipment to designated area. May
operate forklift or other machinery in order to complete tasks. 30%
Surplus: Assist with handling/moving of physical inventories of University-owned
excess/surplus equipment. Arrange for the transfer of excess/surplus equipment
to other departments and/or campuses and trade-in or sale to the public as
directed by the Logistics Supervisor. Assists in preparing scrap bins to receive,
transport, separate, store, or dispose of excess property. Communicates with
local salvage companies in the removal and replacement of containers. 30%
Digital Print: Receiving and processing orders from a variety of sources. Meet
production and quality expectations for our clients. Preview client files to ensure
proper formatting for large and small format print production. Completing order
throughout the cycle, including: order entry, processing, print production, bindery,
packaging, order verification for shipping/delivery. Assist sales in communicating
printing capabilities to prospective clients. 20%
Customer Service: Interact with customers to address their concerns, answer
their questions and assist them with their needs. Answer customer phone calls
and emails, responding to customers’ questions and concerns. Provide accurate
information, resolve issues in a timely manner and ensure customer satisfaction.
Build sustainable relationships and trust with customers through open and
interactive communication. 10%
Other: Provides operational support for Campus Business Services which may
include some of the following functions: participates in the development and
implementation of the department’s mission, goals, and strategic planning;
assists in the review of operations and services to identify efficiencies and
integrate “best practices”; coordinates and/or participates in special projects and
assignments, the scope of which may extend beyond day-to-day operations. 10%
