Job Summary

Will work in direct support of the SP Sinuni/Sinjar Programs in Sinuni and Sinjar areas. will be under the direct supervision of the Senior logistics officer. The Logistics assistant shall abide by the Samaritan’s Purse Policy and code of conduct. Will be responsible for the management of all Base needs, Base Operations and Maintenance, logistics, Vehicle Fleet management, support with SP-asset management, Warehousing and Inventory, fieldwork, and all related paperwork and documentation.

 The logistics assistant will work with the team to perform all operations-related duties in Sinuni/Sinjar and surrounding areas. His/her duties are to work as a team member, and also to support the operations team in the area.

  

The job is based in Sinuni but will require movement to support all work locations in the surrounding area with a possibility of travel to Erbil and Duhok offices as needed. Samaritan’s Purse will provide transportation, meals, and lodging if required. In addition, he/she will also perform all tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Area Coordinator and Senior Logistics officer for the benefit of Samaritan’s Purse with a generous and serving spirit.

 

Job Duties:

  • Verify that all invoices meet base, procurement, and operational requirements by translating and checking prices, stamps, dates, and signatures.
  • Handle administrative paperwork for the logistics team, including completing finance forms.
  • Generate all Purchase Requests (PRs) for the base.
  • Assist in supervising cooks and cleaners and ensure all cooking and kitchen supplies are available for the Sinuni base and guesthouse.
  • Track generator work hours and submit weekly reports to the line manager.
  • Archive operations paperwork in Box, ensuring trackers are accurate, maintained, and up to date.
  • Review SP track logbooks and verify fuel invoices before uploading them to the database.
  • Support updating and maintaining trackers for the fleet, base, rooms, and guests in Sinuni, keeping line managers informed with regular updates.
  • Ensure guesthouse and office maintenance needs are met by tracking schedules, coordinating skilled labor for repairs, and submitting weekly maintenance reports to the line manager.
  • Prepare rooms to receive guests when needed, and track guest occupancy in Sinjar, sharing updates with the line manager.
  • Assist with asset counts and tracking at the Sinuni base, keeping accurate records of base, fleet, and asset count activities.
  • Manage cleaning supplies and stationery stock at the Sinjar base and oversee the storage of equipment and supplies.
  • Handle daily food purchasing and cooking needs.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming equipment, furniture, and supplies, schedule deliveries to users, tag furniture/equipment, and update inventory records.
  • Support physical asset counts, updates, and disposals, preparing and submitting necessary documents to management.
  • Assist with maintenance, repairs, and improvements at the Base Office and Team House.
  • Support all daily procurement activities.
  • Collaborate respectfully with team members.

Education / Experience Needed

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree required (bachelor’s degree is preferred).
  • Minimum of 1-2 years working experience in the operations department with INGOs

 

LANGUAGE

  • Arabic, Kurdish, and English required (spoken and written)
