The role
As a Logistics Operative you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Working as part of the MOD’s Satellite Communications (SATCOM) system called Skynet, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the United Kingdom’s Defence strategy at home and overseas in theatre. This is an exciting and rewarding programme, the importance of which cannot be understated.
Day to day, you’ll provide Logistics Support and undertake Logistics activities to a high level in all Skynet Logistics areas, as well as:
- Provide Logistics Support to meet MoD Operational Requirements.
- Carry out Inventory Management through the maintenance of accurate records of equipment storage and movement.
- The forwarding of stores to other locations, customers, and repair agents.
- Provide support at other sites during periods of absence and criticality.
This role is full time and based onsite at Oakhanger.
Essential experience of the Logistics Operative:
- Full Clean Driving Licence.
- IT literate, knowledge of Excel, Outlook, Word, Access.
- Warehousing or Stores Environment Experience.
- Forklift Trained.
Qualifications for the Logistics Operative:
- GCSE Qualifications in Maths and English
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
