VACANCY: Logistics Site Manager 1

 

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is a neutral and independent international humanitarian organization, which assists and protects victims of armed conflicts and other situations of violence. The ICRC is currently looking for staff for its support operations in Iraq.

Job Title: Logistics Site Manager 1

Level: B2

Duty Station: Iraq – Nasiriyah Sub-Delegation

Reports to: Directly to the Deputy Head of Sub-delegation and Functionally to the Logistics Country Manager

Duration of Contract: 1-year fixed-term contract (with the possibility of renewal based on needs and performance).

Objective:

The Logistics Site Manager oversees logistics operations in Nasiriya sub-delegation. He/she provides technical and operational support in the areas of purchasing, transport, and vehicle fleet management to ensure that assistance arrives at the final distribution point at the agreed time and in good condition.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sets up, adapts, and maintains logistics infrastructure according to the needs, in collaboration with the Logistics Country Manager.
  • Is responsible for implementing logistics procedures in accordance with the logistics strategy for the country and financial procedures.
  • Maintains and ensures proper use of general and specialized logistics IT tools.
  • Oversees and coordinates statistical reporting, queries, and inventories if applicable.
  • Collaborates with the Customer Service Desk (CSD) team in Baghdad and Erbil in treatment of customer orders.
  • Supervises and if needed trains/supports users in the use of IRIS Customer Portal (Order creation, Order approval and plans and executes procurement activities in the sub-delegation.
  • Closely follows up on procurement files and reporting.
  • Supervises and follows up on all transport operations in the sub-delegation.
  • Manages the car-pool team in the sub-delegation.
  • Is accountable for meeting the transportation needs of the employees in a timely and cost-efficient way.
  • Ensures ICRC logistics standard computer systems such as JDE, IRIS, Profiles, STMs …. are well maintained and used.
  • Use of existing dashboards for the monitoring of logistics performance.

Education and Professional Experience required:

 

  • Bachelor or technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years’ work experience, preferably in commercial, or humanitarian logistics, including management experience.
  • Good command (spoken and written) of English.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Fluent knowledge of Arabic and English languages, and other local languages are an asset,
  • Experience in Staff management.
  • Experience in logistics operation and transportation.
  • ICRC field experience is an asset.
