The key priorities for the Supply Division from 20182021 are to provide timely and effective service delivery for emergencies, programmes, and procurement services partners. This includes creating healthy markets and sustainable national supply chain systems, as well as providing supply financing solutions. To achieve these priorities, the SD OMP contains strategies on the Science of Delivery, Products & Markets, Services, Humanitarian Development Continuum, National System Strengthening, Financing and Domestic Resource Mobilization, Monitoring, the Supply Community, Optimizing UNICEF Supply, and Strengthening Organizational Excellence, all following a resultsbased approach. The position is located in the Global Transport Center (GT, Supply Division, Copenhagen, Denmark, and reports to the Service Delivery ICLLogistics Manager. The incumbent will work closely with UNICEF colleagues in Supply Division, Country Offices, and Regional Offices, as well as external parties (partners and FFW.
How can you make a difference?
The position supports the strengthening of UNICEF’s supply chain through comprehensive logistics information analysis, expertise in logistics information systems, and technical assistance to Country Offices (Cin the effective use of information systems and VISION warehouse modules. The incumbent will also play a key role in enhancing global logistics performance by providing regular monitoring and analysis, enabling Supply Division (Smanagement, Country Offices, and Regional Offices to take timely and informed corrective actions.
Additionally, the role supports UNICEF’s endtoend delivery monitoring and visibility strategy by working closely with Country Offices, Regional Offices, procurement centers, and emergency units. The incumbent will contribute to the development and enhancement of delivery models, systems strengthening, risk mitigation, monitoring tools, and capacitybuilding initiatives, thereby reinforcing the effectiveness and resilience of UNICEF’s supply chains.

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:
In support of COs, plans, designs, and implements appropriate logistics systems, including warehousing and incountry transport capacity, including establishing Long Term Arrangements and frame agreements for, e.g., customs clearance, storage, transport, and distribution as might be required. Ensures service provider performance, including the use of key performance indicators. Below are the key functions:
Support InCountry Logistics activities both for Country Office and Governments/counterparts.
Provide technical and operational support to Country Offices in Logistics Information Systems management through:
a. using the VISION warehouse and Inventory management module to manage controlled programme supplies.
b. troubleshooting and technical input to VISION enhancements and business processes
c. data analysis and report generation to track and monitor inventory as part of the oversight function
In collaboration with SCSC, provide support in government capacity building through In country Logistics (eg: partner software version or through examination and assessment of other LMIS system
Assess existing logistics operations systems and advise on corrective measures to be undertaken. Provide input to guidance and ICL policies and ensure these are coherent with VISION workflows.
Conduct support and assessment missions to Country Offices and Governments in support of Incountry Logistics strengthening.
As part of the localization strategy and when deployed to the field, the logistics specialist ensures COs have appropriate processes and systems in place to ensure the efficiency of the logistics operations (e.g., customs clearance, transport requests, receipt, and dispatch of good.
Ensures appropriate planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of logistics operations.
Establishes and maintains logistics plans and delivery plans further to supply availability plans. Coordinates with zone offices as might be required.
Work closely with GTC colleagues in mapping incountry timely delivery processes and strategies, identifying constraints and challenges with a focus on customs and clearing processes, including oncarriage, and contributing to recommendations and delivery models in liaison with global transport center contracting and shipping operations.
