Main purpose of the job:

 

Supervising all maintenance logistics activities in the base and Office (vehicles, fuel consumption, and local infrastructure) according to MSFCH standards and protocols in order to maintain the facilities in perfect conditions and collaborate in the development of the mission.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

  • Monitoring maintenance activities of infrastructures, management of non-medical stocks and equipment according to MSFCH standards
  • Ensuring the check and follow-up of facilities under the line manager’s supervision through daily visits to the facilities and reporting any anomalies or problems, evaluation of the rehabilitation needs and following up minor building rehabilitation work according to supervisor’s instructions; checking that premises observe security norms and monitoring the consumption of mechanical and electrical vehicles/machines/devices
  • Planning together with the line manager the required checks and maintenance activities of energy systems/set-up according to MSFCH standards
  • Coordinating and leading the logistics team under his/her responsibility which includes daily supervision, monitoring of the quality of work and the definition of each person’s task, drawing up their working schedules; organizing and leading team meetings; participating in the recruitment of team personnel and attending logistics meetings and accounting for his activities
  • Ensuring the vehicle fleet maintenance which includes planning and overseeing timely preventive and curative maintenance of all project vehicles according to MSF standards and instructing and monitoring drivers on correct driving habits and standard checks
  • Managing and following up orders which includes collecting logistics orders coming from different departments or health facilities; drawing up and following up orders according to the procedures in force; providing technical support to the storekeeper, makes local purchases according to MSFCH supply procedures and ensures reception conditions of freight or arriving material as well as the organization and setting up of materials before its shipment

 

Context Specific Accountabilities:  

 

  • Ensure that the electrical system and the back-up system (generators) are working without any issue and all the electrical connections are of MSF standard; report any incident to the line manager.
  • Ensuring the generators maintenance, which includes planning and overseeing timely preventive and cura-tive maintenance of the GH and Office / hospital generators according to MSF standards.
  • Managing the maintenance team and ensure that the preventive / curative maintenance for the Guest Houses and office are followed on time.
  • Tracking consumption of supplies, fuel, lubricants, used in different facilities (office, house, store, etc.).
  • Checking the maintenance of the various open spaces (gardens, courtyards…) and ensuring that domestic waste is correctly discarded.
  • Managing the security team of watchmen / watchwomen and ensure that they follow the rules / policies / protocols and report any security issue to the line manager without any delay.
  • Participating in the writing of the monthly reports according to MSF guidelines.
  • Participating in the monitoring the hibernation / security foodbox and fire evacuation system in the GH and Office and report any defects to the line manager to take corrective decision.
  • Back up for the log hospital when needed
  • Participarting in trainings at the request of the line manager
  • Responsible for all construction and rehabilitation works in the base.
  • Identify HR needs and request for the daily workers
  • Immediately inform the line manager of any problems arising in the cause of the work, punctuality with the regard to damage, loss, attempted break-ins or theft

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Requirements for the role

Education         Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant studies.  
Experience       2-year experience essential. Experience with NGO desirable.
Languages       Arabic & English Essential.
