The Logistic Assistant is part of the project support team and part of the project’s logistic team lead by the Senior Logistic Officer (SLO), Basra. The position requires:
Basic knowledge on logistics systems and procedures
Excellent cooperating ability, both with national and international personnel
Good written and spoken English, Arabic
Communicative, mature and responsible.
Ability to travel between the governorates.
General Responsibilities:
Work within the framework of NPA core values
Act as an ambassador for NPA, through professionalism and conduct
Adhere to all NPA policies, regulations and procedures
Maintain and care for all equipment issued by NPA for any loss or damage.
Follow all verbal and/or written instructions, unless in direct violation of safety and duty of care
Ensure a safe workplace and follow NPA’s safety/security protocols, guidelines.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring that all NPA logistics activities are conducted at the highest level of standards.
Under the supervision of the Senior Logistics Officer, collect quotations from the market when required.
Responsible for purchasing office and accommodation supplies, when required.
Ensure all payments are made in time and are supported with correct & valid documents.
Monitor and maintain NPA Thi Qar office property with the support from Domestic Worker.
Maintain inventory of all equipment and assets. Assist when required, in spot checking and physical count of full inventory.
Assisting with receiving and issuance of goods and materials. Filing documents, bills, invoices, etc. related to Thi Qar office.
Loading, offloading and distribution of goods and materials. Reporting any incident immediately to the line manager
Responsible for assisting Fleet Officer in managing NPA vehicles and generators. Organize maintenance & service following the service schedule.
Manage fuel & organize refuelling of vehicles & generator in coordination with the Fleet Officer and SLO. Maintain proper fuel records.
Any other duties assigned by SLO and the DPM.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Required Qualifications:
Must have:
Know the local markets in Thi Qar
Diploma of degree in any discipline
Valid manual Driver’s License
Knowledge of MS office and computer literate
Long experience in living in communties in Thi Qar
Desirable:
Mechanical skills for basic maintenance of vehicles/generators.
Experience in procurement from local markets in Thi Qar and South Iraq
Experience:
Must have:
2-3 years in a similar position.
Desirable:
Experience in working with International NGO`s or UN Agencies.
