LP Brussels is looking for a motivated and ambitious consultant to become part of our team in Brussels. They would support our LP Brussels in delivering communications, including both public affairs and secretariat services to our clients.

The person we are looking for:

• Has 1-3 years of relevant experience;
• Is passionate about EU communications;
• Has experience of organising and managing events;
• Has an excellent level of written and spoken English, other languages a bonus;
• Understands what motivates and influences decision makers and clients alike;
• Has a direct interest and experience in the fields of EU climate, energy or transport policy;
• An ability to interpret and condense information into a concise format;
• Has the ability to work flexibly and proactively.

Key responsibilities:

• Follow, monitor and report on legislation and political discussions as they pass through the EU institutions;
• Delivery of an annual congress outside of Belgium;
• Be part of a secretariat team that delivers on both the functioning of a major EU trade association as well as their public affairs;
• Organisation of committees and workshops, including drafting concise minutes in a timely manner;
• Deliver public affairs work on client accounts in the following fields in particular – bioenergy, energy efficiency, fuels, and top-level transport;
• Help manage the websites of LP Brussels and of our clients;
• Research and drafting of industry position papers;
• Production of newsletters to send to industry representatives.
