Summary of Job Duties:

***This position is located in Helena, AR***
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a specifically trained member of the inpatient care team. The LPN supports the ongoing delivery of care and is an integral team member in the care of patients and families. The LPN works under the direct supervision of the Clinical Services Manager (CSM) and indirectly under the direction of the RN. The LPN works with the individual patient, their families, and providers to implement individual health plans.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School, GED, or formal educational equivalent

  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program

  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse License in the State of Arkansas

  • One year of LPN experience(new graduate applicable with previous CNA, MA, or PCT experience)

  • Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities

  • Ability to think critically and solve problems independently

  • Empathy and ability to provide compassionate care to patients

  • Adherence to ethical standards and confidentiality regulations

  • Proficient in using electronic health records (EHRs) and other medical software

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift and transfer patients as needed

  • Flexibility to handle a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing healthcare needs

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Delivers nursing care according to the standard of care defined by UAMS with support and mentoring by RN

  • Provides effective patient/family education under the supervision of RN

  • Administers medication per standard, including providing medication education to patients and families

  • Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients; may include interviewing patients and obtaining medical history.

  • Transports patients to other areas of the hospital as directed

  • Monitors patient care supplies ordered and received; reports any discrepancy, Utilizes supplies and equipment judiciously

  • Assists Patients with ADL/Personal Care

  • Obtains and records vital signs/pulse oximetry

  • Documents all patient care activities/tasks accurately and timely per standards

  • Other Duties as assigned
