CIMMYT is seeking a proactive, creative, insightful, with attention to detail and customer service-oriented professional for the position of Liaison Officer to work in CIMMYT’s Donor Relations and Fundraising Support Department.

 

Specific duties:

 

  • Gather, analyze, and share information on global, regional, national, and international funding trends and priorities.
  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of funding partner management.
  • Provide support in the drafting of donor profiles, factsheets, and briefing notes for our core funding business intelligence needs.
  • Plan and coordinate the international fundraising visits of the Head of Donor Relations and Fundraising Support (DFS).
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the DFS Head and the Grants Management Manager and for One CGIAR-related matters.
  • Act as liaison person for leading, coordinating, and supporting DFS interaction with other Enabling Departments and CIMMYT Research Programs.
  • Provide business travel support to DFS colleagues and manage and coordinate consultants’ and interns’ contracts and payment.
  • Develop DFS budgets and participate in budget management activities, including overseeing DFS budget and expenditure analysis.
  • Support the DFS Head and/or Grants Management Manager in knowledge management, including assisting with research, capturing, and filing of data, info-sharing, and accessing and providing filed data when required.
  • Manage all logistics for DFS workshops and events.
  • Undertake any other activity requested by the DFS Head and/or Grants Management Manager.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance administration or related fields.
  • Advanced English level (C1).
  • Minimum of 6 years of work experience in a similar role.
  • Good understanding of and experience in financial bookkeeping.
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Word, Excel, G-Suite, the Internet, and associated applications.
  • Database experience.
  • Ability to set priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well with a variety of personnel and in varied situations.
  • Attention to detail and persistence to ensure thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Ability to take the initiative and work independently and as part of a team.
  • A pleasant demeanor, comfortable interacting with both leadership and other colleagues
