CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented professional for the position of Financial Analyst to develop the economic and financial analysis of the company’s investment projects, to provide real data on returns and risks and with that appropriate decisions can be made.

 

The position will be based at CIMMYT headquarters in Texcoco, State of Mexico, near Mexico City.

 

Specific duties:

  • Build and maintain updated a dynamic database of financial information related to Collaborations management, ensuring the accuracy of figures throughout the organization.
  • Carry out periodic reconciliations of financial information between three different sources (User information, specialized software and the ERP).
  • Analyze, identify and discuss with the supervisor and the programs the differences and adjustments according to the review and follow up with the IT and Accounting on the necessary adjustments to maintain correct information.
  • Provide support to programs with expense booking requests to the accounting department through specialized software / tickets system if required.
  • Support in the creation and updating of manuals and procedures for the financial management of collaborations.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance Team to ensure that financial processes related to Subgrants are closely aligned with CIMMYT politics and internal controls.
  • Work with the Legal and Compliance Team to create a financial framework to classify collaborators based on their reputation and performance in managing collaborations.
  • Provide assistance to programs for financial management issues.
  • Ensure compliance with the minimum financial terms in the draft agreements for new collaborations.
  • Support in the Monthly reconciliation of expenses information between ERP and Subgrant Module.
  • Work with the IT and accounting Team in the design and development of financial monitoring tools to ensure timely compliance with financial deliverables related to collaborations.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by their supervisor.
  • The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree / financial or similar qualifications.
  • The candidate must have 4 years of experience in similar positions or activities (reconciliation).
  • The candidate must exhibit Proficiency in Microsoft Office, mainly excel.
  • The candidate must have experience with any ERP, Microsoft Dynamics version 365 is desirable.
  • The candidate must demonstrate intermediate proficiency in verbal and written English. English skills may be tested, and the candidate should score a minimum of B2, ideally C1, on the CEFR scale.
  • The candidate must exhibit great Communication, Teamwork, Problem Solving and Decision-Making.
  • The candidate must exhibit high sense of urgency and commitment to their responsibilities and deadlines
  • The candidate must exhibit a high level of responsibility, confidentiality, leadership and accountability.
