  • Permanent full-time contract – average 37.5 hours per week
  • £24,630 – £26,137 per annum (dependant on experience). This equates to an hourly rate of £12.63 – £13.40.
  • *This role is currently eligible for our geographical allowance incentive. This means that during your first two years of employment with us, you’ll be paid an extra amount each month on top of your usual salary – this extra payment is calculated at 5% of the gross basic salary figure.

What you’ll be doing

This is a busy, active role and will require you to be able to carry out duties associated with maintenance work, including manual handling tasks, e.g. moving and operating equipment and tools.

You will be responsible for overall maintenance and improvements of the learning location buildings and grounds. As well as being responsible for carrying out routine Health and Safety monitoring, checks and record keeping.

All internal and external repairs to fabric and fittings will need to be carried out in a timely fashion. This could include repairs relating to carpentry, window glazing, plumbing and electrical works and may mean you need to liaise with outside contractors where appropriate.

Where you’ll be based

Located next to Box Hill in Surrey, the Field Studies Council Juniper Hall centre has beautiful scenery and countryside surroundings yet is very easy to reach by car or public transport.

We can accommodate a maximum of 130 guests, in two accommodation blocks. There are a variety of room types including single, twin, triple, and dormitory rooms. Some rooms are en-suite and others have shower and toilet facilities close by.

Who we’re looking for

We need someone with experience in both interior and exterior maintenance work. You will take pride in delivering quality workmanship and have an awareness and understanding of relevant Health and Safety issues that comes with this type of work. In addition, you will need:
