Are you a skilled Maintenance Officer / Handyperson seeking a rewarding role with a leading human services organisation? Uniting is looking for a dynamic individual to join our team at Mingaletta, Port Macquarie, contributing to the maintenance of property and land-based assets, plant, and equipment.
Responsibilities:
As the Maintenance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and sustainability of our facilities, enabling care and accommodation services in a homelike environment. Your responsibilities include:
- Timely execution of planned and unplanned maintenance tasks.
- Compliance with corporate standards and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) regulations.
- Daily management of work requests using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Collaboration with the Asset Coordinator to prioritise works.
- Undertaking building/property maintenance tasks promptly and efficiently.
- Communication with contractors, ensuring proper site induction and safe work practices.
- Effective communication with residents, staff, and families, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Tertiary/Bachelor qualification in a relevant business field or equivalent experience.
- 3 or more years’ experience in maintenance, with a trade qualification or equivalent proven experience.
- Driver’s License.
- Knowledge of legislation related to buildings, workplace health and safety.
- Detailed knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain buildings and equipment in compliance with legislation and corporate standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good Computer skills.

- Previous experience in a maintenance role is desirable.
