About the Role
We’re seeking two skilled Maintenance Officers / Handypersons to join our team servicing our valued aged care facilities in Ermington. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in maintaining our property, land-based assets, and equipment to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for our residents. We are looking for a person who is organised and motivated to ensure the safe operating environment of our residents and staff and be part of a great team.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct planned and unplanned maintenance tasks to support our service delivery goals.
- Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and families, showing empathy and understanding towards the needs of our aged residents.
- Ensure all maintenance work meets corporate standards and complies with workplace health and safety regulations.
- Perform building and property maintenance tasks in a timely manner, whether routine, planned, or reactive.
Qualifications, skills, and experience
- Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation related to buildings and workplace health and safety.
- Trade background preferred but not essential.
- Ability to maintain buildings and equipment to meet legislative and corporate standards.
- Familiarity with contractor obligations.
- Proficiency in computer skills.
- Current NSW driver’s license.
Even better
- Experience in maintenance, particularly in an aged care or retirement living setting.
- Familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS); training can be provided.
