The Major Gift Officer is responsible
for supporting the Philanthropy arm of the Development team and for
the implementation and assessment of HAWC’s individual donor
efforts, under the guidance of the VP of Philanthropy, to support
the agency’s overall revenue generation. This position implements
the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts for
individual major donors and is responsive to the evolving
organizational needs, priorities, and key stakeholders using
department-approved fundraising strategies.

9 am 6 pm

OR

8 am 5 pm

Our
Total Compensation Package:
 

Starting Salary Range: $100,000
annually.
Pay schedule bi-monthly.

The
Requirements We are Seeking:
 

Bachelor’s Degree
Masters preferred.
A minimum of five years of
progressive experience in fundraising, development, or donor
relations
A minimum of five years of experience
working for a nonprofit that raises a minimum of $4M+ per year from
private sources.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft
Office specifically Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
Experience in Donor Management/CRM
software, Raiser’s Edge, or equivalent database preferred.
Computer savvy and able to learn new
applications and systems quickly.
Texas driver’s license with a good
driving record; reliable transportation; ability to travel to
off-site locations utilizing personal transportation, if
applicable.
CFRE or other fundraising
certification preferred.

 
 
What
you Deliver in this role:
 
Fundraising:

You will work under the guidance of
the Vice President of Philanthropy to manage a portfolio of 150
assigned major donors (individuals, families, and family
foundations) with minimum annual giving potential of $10,000
through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship actions.
You will track and secure $1M in
individual philanthropic funds for the organization while ensuring
gifts are accurately coded with proper documentation.
You will support donor retention and
recapture while increasing donors’ level of giving and
involvement.
You will work as key point person and
relationship manager for donors coordinating in-person meetings,
site visits, and tours to educate donors on HAWC and foster
relationships.

 
 
Data
Management:
 

You will track all assigned donor
notes, actions, relationships, communications, interests,
demographics, motivations, and attributes in the fundraising
database Raiser’s Edge.
You will maintain the integrity,
security, and accuracy of assigned donor data in Raiser’s
Edge.
You will examine and evaluate
portfolio activity and provide reports, presentations, and
recommendations regularly.

 
 
Collaboration:
 

You will work with the Development
team on special events and campaigns throughout the year with
public speaking as needed.
You will participate in ongoing
professional development and networking opportunities.
Other duties/projects may be
assigned.
