Major Giving Officer

World Land Trust

tendersglobal.net

Summary

Like the climate and biodiversity crisis that World Land Trust is trying to tackle through
protecting threatened habitats, we are at a pivotal point in our history. With an ambitious
strategic plan that aims to double our conservation impact by 2025 – bringing a further 1
million hectares of land into conservation protection – we need to grow our income across a
broad range of funding streams. The Development Department is made up of teams dedicated to
each of our funding streams and this role will be part of a small team, reporting to the Major
Giving Manager. The Major Giving Officer will support our work building and maintaining our
relationships with new and existing Major Donors, Trusts and Foundations, and Legacy
supporters, sustaining and developing these income streams as a key part of our fundraising
strategy. We are looking for applicants who ideally have experience producing funding proposals
and reporting, but most important is that you can demonstrate that you have the necessary
skills to build and nurture long-term relationships through effective stewardship, which is key
to our success. This role offers a real opportunity for someone looking to make an impact.

Working with World Land Trust

WLT is based in the UK and is unique within the conservation world. Reaching beyond its 30th
year of operation the Trust has grown from small beginnings saving critically threatened forest
in Belize, to become an internationally respected conservation organisation with a proven track
record, working with more than 50 overseas conservation NGOs on protection of threatened
habitats. WLT has developed its modus operandi without losing its vision, integrity and
transparency.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for enthusiasm for our work, with exceptional written and communication skills to
produce impactful funding applications and reporting, attention to detail, and a passion for
developing individual relationships to ensure that our donors feel supported, valued and
informed on their contribution to WLT’s work.
