Position Summary:

The Office of the Dean at the Desautels Faculty of Management is currently seeking a Management Education Student Research Assistant to support the process of creating a new research Master’s degree within the Faculty. The Research Assistant will be actively engaged in understanding the current educational, social and economic trends required to support a new degree and work closely with key personnel at Desautels to develop a research program. The position is strategic, combining communication skills, writing proficiency, direct stakeholder outreach and critical analyses to develop an innovative new program. 

Working directly with the Office of the Dean at the Desautels Faculty of Management and the Masters Research Thesis Working Group, the Research Assistant will:

– Undertake a review of master’s level education in management in Quebec, Canada and internationally to determine the positioning of a new McGill offering
– Critically analyze enrolments, admission requirements, revenue, overall impact of the program.   
– Compile resources and support documents in the preparation of a proposal dossier for the creation of a new Masters research degree.
– Contribute to the creation of the dossier, presentations, summaries and necessary written material generated by the literature review and analysis. 
 

Qualifications:

Knowledge of the Desautels and McGill communities, or strong willingness to learn about these communities. 
– Excellent writing and communication skills
– Excellent time management skills and ability to adhere to deadlines
– Knowledge and interest in educational material, communications, marketing, and research
– An interest in academic offerings and the future of education. 
– Ability to work independently, while being proactive and a self-starter.
– Can operate with discretion and tact.
