The Opportunity

This opportunity involves you leading and collaborating in the design, delivery and management of an integrated and innovative state-wide After-Hours Service that delivers quality services for all client-facing program areas of Services for Children and Families, within a statutory framework.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve, but are not limited to:

  • Providing leadership in the strategic design, development, implementation and continuous improvement of the new After-Hours Service.
  • Fostering high level stakeholder engagement and partnerships that build relationships across government and non-government services and strengthen the services delivered by the After-Hours Service, and the broader Services for Children and Families.
  • Overseeing the management of the After-Hours team, including the management of human, financial and physical resources.
  • Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable people (including children and young people) and immediately report any concerns, disclosures, allegations, or suspicions of harm.

About You

Suited to an experienced, highly collaborative leader, the successful applicant will possess:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in, child safety or a related human services field, with an understanding of the complex environment of community and health service delivery, and the impact of this environment on Child Safety services in Children, Youth and Families or transferrable skills from experience within a related field.
  • High level interpersonal skills to advance productive partnerships and working relationships with government and non-government organisations.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and manage change, foster collaborative partnerships, and influence the delivery of services to appropriately meet the needs of clients and of the service.
  • Highly developed strategic and conceptual approach to service planning, development, and evaluation, including an ability to understand the political, social and organisational environment impacting on the department and the broader service network and identify relevant issues.

Essential Requirements

You will be required to:

  • Hold a current Registration to work with vulnerable people.
  • Meet pre-employment checks including conviction checks.
