The Manager, Alumni Relations plays a crucial role in fostering a sense of community and connection among the university’s alumni networks. By nurturing relationships, providing meaningful opportunities for engagement, and leveraging alumni support, the Manager, Alumni Relations contributes to the long-term success and advancement of the university.
Responsibilities:
Alumni Engagement
Develop and execute engagement strategies to build and maintain strong relationships with alumni, including through events, reunions, regional gatherings, and other initiatives.
Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to create meaningful opportunities for alumni involvement in university activities, programs, and mentoring initiatives.
Alumni Outreach and Communication
Develop and maintain a comprehensive alumni database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for effective communication and relationship management.
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop and enhance alumni benefits and services, such as career support, access to university resources, discounts, and networking opportunities.
Volunteer Management
Support and manage alumni volunteers to support various alumni engagement initiatives, including event planning, mentorship programs, and fundraising campaigns.
Provide ongoing support and recognition to volunteers, ensuring their continued involvement and commitment to the university.
Fundraising and Stewardship
Collaborate with the Advancement team to identify and cultivate alumni prospects for philanthropic giving, supporting fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
Work closely with alumni donors to ensure proper acknowledgment, recognition, and stewardship of their contributions.
Collaborate with the Advancement team to leverage alumni relationships for fundraising opportunities, including major gifts, planned giving, and alumni-driven campaigns.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Sales and engagement, alumni relations, development, or related fields.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including alumni, volunteers, and donors.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and inspire others.
Experience in event planning and execution.
Proficiency in database management and CRM systems.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as required for alumni events and activities.
