Receives business analysis department assignments in the form of objectives. Understands goals and processes by which to meet department goals and objectives. Exercises judgment within defined procedures, policies, and department protocol to determine appropriate action.
The Manager, Business Systems Development will define work plans and will be responsible for the implementation, deployment, and ongoing technical and end user support of CLS approved business information systems. These systems vary in complexity from low to extremely complex. The nature of work which will include projects, enhancements, and support will address business-specific needs as they relate to Campus Life Services and its business and administrative units (i.e. Transportation Service, Fitness & Recreation, Housing Services, Documents & Media, Retail Services, Conference Services, Facilities Services, Arts & Events) and other units utilizing shared technologies.
The Manager, Business Systems Development will analyze processes, and develop deliverables throughout the project lifecycle that support the selection, installation, implementation, deployment, and support of systems and/or solutions that lead to improved and automated business process and controls. The position collaborates with technical and business staff internal and external to Campus Life Services in order to integrate existing systems, convert legacy systems, and/or implement new systems for Campus Life Services business and administrative units.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% – 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Department Description
The Manager, Business Systems Development has responsibility for technical project oversight, and end-user support for Campus Life Services (CLS). CLS is an organization comprised of ten business units that produce $85+ million dollars of annual operating revenue and has a workforce contingent of approximately 850 employees. CLS supports and enhances campus life and serves both the campus and neighboring community. The incumbent ensures that technical application and data architecture for all CLS Business Units is integrated within the UCSF IT technical environment.
The Manager, Business Systems Development will report to the Director, Department Technology Solutions. This person will typically manage 5 subordinate staff and will require regular interaction with key UCSF staff across the organization as well as key vendor participants critical to project or support success.
