At Lives Lived Well, we’ve been treating and supporting young people and adults whose lives are affected by alcohol and other drugs for over 50 years. We also support people with mental health and gambling concerns and those transitioning from correctional centres.

About the Service

Located in the beautiful coastal regional city of Coffs Harbour surrounded by a host of stunning beaches and tranquil rainforests, this youth residential alcohol and other drug service provides therapeutic rehabilitation and withdrawal support to young people aged 13 – 18 years.

This youth residential rehab provides an 8-bed recovery service, including 2 withdrawal beds providing a safe environment to withdraw from alcohol and/or other drugs. The 12 week program is structured to include therapeutic interventions, psychoeducation, relapse prevention, case management, cultural connection activities, life skills and aftercare support.

Your Opportunity

This is your opportunity to lead this service as a compassionate, curious, and non-judgmental leader, passionate about supporting staff and asking, ‘why not, and what’s next?’

In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of operational and clinical oversight of the youth service. You will provide leadership and operational management of the service, undertake innovative projects as needed, involving internal and external collaborators and partnerships, ensuring best practice to clients and their support networks, and collaborate with funders and stakeholders in a dynamic setting.

You will thrive in this opportunity to:

  • Maximise performance of the service by providing expert operational management and business advice.
  • Develop and deliver business plans and projects aligned to the strategic plan.
  • Exercise decision making and accountability within constraints of organisational policy, service agreements and legislation.
  • Embed policies, procedures and sound clinical practices that align with the organisation’s clinical framework in the service and train and supervise staff accordingly.
  • Lead, motivate and inspire the team, to ensure work is performed in alignment with organisational goals and process.
  • Foster productive relationships and partnerships with relevant stakeholders.
  • Maximise clinical outcomes of programs by leading the implementation and delivery of evidence-based clinical approaches.
  • Develop and manage program budgets.

To succeed in this role, there are some essentials you’ll need.

A strong clinical and management background, ideally with a background in youth services, will underpin your confidence in the day-to-day operation of services. The role will require the successful applicant to build strong working relationships with the Department of Communities and Justice.

You will also demonstrate the following:

  • Significant demonstrated experience in managing the delivery of clinical services
  • Experience and demonstrated competence working with young people with complex needs
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and liaise with external stakeholders

  • Understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures in the child welfare sector
  • Cultural competency and experience working with people from diverse backgrounds
  • A high degree of professionalism, integrity, initiative, and drive

What matters most is that you’ll live and breathe our values, which means:

  • You are humble, human, and full of hope.
  • You show up and share.
  • You ask: Why not? And what’s next?
  • You leave a positive wake.

And while you support others, we’ll support you, with some great benefits including:
