About the opportunity
This is a permanent full-time (35 hours/week) opportunity located at Uniting’s Counselling and Mediation site in Sydney CBD. Includes some flexibility WFH.
Uniting is looking for a highly organised and motivated Centre Manager to lead, develop and support its longstanding team in practice and service delivery across Uniting’s Counselling and Mediation post-separation and family law programs.
Uniting Counselling and Mediation has a long history of high-quality service delivery, being well regarded by Family Law stakeholders. You will be leading a small team of Family Counsellors, Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners, and Intake and Admin Workers.

Uniting Counselling and Mediation offers support for individuals, couples, families and young people, addressing issues including depression and anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, with a focus on relationship issues. We are specialists in post separation support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Through leadership and management of Uniting Counselling and Mediation Sydney Centre, you’ll ensure that the vision, philosophy and day-to-day practice meets the needs of children, young people and families throughout the family life cycle and in particular separation.
- Collaborate with other Uniting Counselling and Mediation Centre Managers across the regions to provide programs that demonstrate child inclusive practice.
- Lead an integrated service delivery model for programs delivered from the Centre, ensuring compliance with expected KPIs.
- Collaborate with Uniting Practice Leads to ensure best practice service delivery is maintained, and that legislative requirements are adhered to.
- Provide operational and clinical supervision to the Sydney team.
- Using the cultural and linguistic community diversity profile relevant to the Centre, maintain and develop strategies so that the programs delivered are responsive to client needs.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or other equivalent and relevant field.
- Extensive experience in Social Welfare and Human Services Sector.
- Demonstrated experience and high level skills in management, including budgets, physical resources and administration.
- Demonstrated high level clinical supervision skills, especially in relation to working therapeutically with families post-separation.
- Extensive experience and the ability to maintain a small caseload of Counselling clients.
- Demonstrated ability to translate identified needs into responsive outcome focused services.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, plan and evaluate projects and services.
