The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity for a 6 month contract is available at Newcastle Anglican for a proactive and passionate Manager to lead and manage our 2 day centres, Alkira respite & day therapy centre in Booragul and East Lake Macquarie Dementia Service in Belmont.

Working alongside a multidisciplinary team who have a true passion for the aged care industry you will be responsible for the leadership and management of operations for both centres in relation to the provision of commonwealth home support, Charter and relevant organisational policies and procedures.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the Aged Care Quality Standards are met, legislative changes are implemented, and consumers continue to experience a high level of service provision and satisfaction – thus choosing Anglican Care as their preferred Approved Provider.
  • Meet CHSP monthly reporting requirements and program outputs as per Grant Agreement / Activity Work Plan and achieve program performance goals by working with consumers to manage their individual agreed services.
  • Providing a high standard of clinical leadership as a member of the senior care team that reflects and promotes evidenced based practice and excellence in dementia care.
  • Creating a centre environment that encourages consumer engagement, enjoyment and participation based on meaningful and evidenced based activities and programs.
  • Facilitating a pro-active case management process to promote consumer engagement and self determination to achieve optimum quality of life and have choice and control over the services and support they receive.
  • Managing individual consumer clinical and/or therapy plans within your own professional scope of practice or via appropriate delegation, referral and agreed reporting framework.
  • Operational management of the centres.
  • Lead and manage the day centre team for their performance and development.
  • Collaborate with the People Care leadership team and contribute to the growth of aged care services.

About you?

  • Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional with current registration under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or self-regulated professional body, or relevant business management experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in a similar management position.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage facilities and lead a team within a pro-active and positive workplace culture.
  • Proven experience and strong knowledge of funding in CHSP and budgeting.
  • Sound knowledge and practical experience working with people who are ageing from an enablement, restorative and wellbeing perspective.
  • Understanding of case coordination, multidisciplinary teamwork and the ability to multi-task.
  • Confident and skilled clinician, and/or able to engage and motivate consumers, families, staff and stakeholders.
  • Experience working with people who have dementia and their carers.
  • Experience and commitment to working with quality and risk management systems.
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop goal orientated care plans.
  • Proven achievements to promote quality and safety in the workplace.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and promote change and contribute positively to workplace culture.
