Your new role

We are currently recruiting for a manager to join our Education and Engagement team. This role will continue to set the direction for our training and capability building to community sector professionals working with women experiencing family violence. It will identify strategic opportunities to develop new training offerings, including fee for service, to expand our reach and enhance our impact.

In this leadership role, you will lead a high performing team and continue to strengthen a team culture of excellence, collaboration, innovation, and responsiveness to deliver the reset strategic priorities for the team. You will manage a multidisciplinary team in the development of high-quality best practice training and education programs focused on the community sector.

Role responsibilities include:

  • In collaboration with the Director, Education and Engagement, set the strategic direction of the community sector training stream.
  • Fostering external stakeholder relationships and actively sourcing new for fee service opportunities and funding to further develop training and capability building offerings.
  • Managing the development and review of Education and Engagement programs and projects to ensure they are consistent with best practice, meet funding obligations, and respond to the training and capacity building needs of sector partners.
  • Managing the development and review of legal training resources, to ensure their quality and accuracy.
  • Providing subject matter expertise, strategic guidance, training, and professional development opportunities to Education and Engagement staff members.
  • Continuous improvement of programs, using a variety of methods.
  • Delivering a small amount of training and capacity building in collaboration with the Education and Engagement team.

What you’ll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Strategic thinking and planning.
  • Instructional design and experience in planning, developing, and implementing best practice training and education programs, including the development of learning resources and facilitation.
  • Experience in delivering training and capacity building programs that respond to and/or prevent violence against women.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a high performing team.
  • Strong project management skills, including setting priorities, planning, and organising work.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (oral and written) with the demonstrated ability to build working relationships with colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of and ability to apply feminist frameworks (desirable).
