About the Role
The Manager, Events & Prizes is the lead role in delivery of the annual Eureka prizes and sits within the Marketing, Communications and Partnership team. This role is offered on an ongoing, full-time basis.
You will be required to lead the development, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of all aspects of the Australian Museum Eureka Prizes – Australia’s premier science award program that the Australian Museum has delivered annually since 1990.
This is a role where no two days will be the same. As part of a two-person team, the Manager, Events & Prizes is responsible for ensuring the delivery of the annual science awards program designed to reward and recognise excellence in Australian science. This will include identifying new sponsors, servicing current sponsors, devising and delivering promotional and marketing initiatives to encourage a high number of quality entries into the prize program, managing the online entry and judging system, coordinating the judging process, leading the finalist and winner publicity strategy and delivering an engaging black-tie event to celebrate the winners.
It’s an exciting role which will have you collaborating with colleagues from across the AM as well as leading scientists and science communicators from across the nation.

You will be paid a competitive annual salary $106,025 – $117,363, plus employer’s contribution to superannuation (currently 11%) and annual leave loading.
About You
We are seeking an individual with a positive, outcomes focused attitude.
You will have:
- Experience working in roles with wide and varied responsibilities, excellent time management.
- Experience building and maintaining positive working relationships with sponsors and other financial supporters as well as various stakeholders including VIPs.
- Management experience in project and event management/delivery.
