This Opportunity
The Asia Pacific (APAC) Palladium Corporate team drives and delivers projects for the APAC region as part of Palladium’s global strategic initiatives and purpose around “Catalysing an enriched future for all”.
The APAC Finance Team is in search of a Manager, Financial Management (FM) to assist projects with monitoring financial performance, generating business unit reports and forecasting and budgeting, ensuring data accuracy, and providing financial training. The Manager will also lead template and process improvement and will directly supervise a team of three.
Location and Compensation
The position is based in Palladium’s Brisbane office.
For our prospective employees in Australia, please note that the full-time equivalent annual base salary for this position is expected to range from AUD $97,000 to $135,000, and successful candidates may also be eligible for additional, variable incentive compensation dependent on the role. For part-time employees, the salary will be prorated based on the actual number of hours worked.
Please be advised that a final salary offer will be based on various factors, including but not limited to your qualifications, education, experience, skills, seniority, performance, and Palladium’s business or organisational needs.

Reporting and Supervision
- This position will report directly to the Regional Finance Director
- This position will supervise three direct reports on the finance management team
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise members of the APAC Financial Management team
- Support the Director in the delivery of financial reporting, performance assessment, and financial forecasting/modelling needs of the Business Region Partners while implementing best practices as outlined by Global Finance
- Administer financially all direct and intercompany projects in the ERP systems (accounting and planning tools) including: project set-up and maintenance (WBS, revenue, resource application, billing etc.), internal and external financial reporting, workforce/labour category maintenance, field cost templates, billing, internal and external financial reviews/audits of project financial information
- Support the accurate and timely month end close process for the region, including capturing, justifying and validating relevant accruals along with adjustments ensuring the accuracy of the numbers presented
- Coordinate closely with the Project Directors/Managers and Operations staff to validate and consolidate forward financial performance forecasts and financial reporting metrics (project income, unbilled costs, project contribution/EBITDA and backlog) through completion of current projects as well as new business opportunities
- Assist in managing forecast versions (award, client, workplan, previous, current) as well as planning scenarios
- Coordinate closely with other Finance teams to maximise utilisation of resources and build global best practices as well as identify opportunities for resource utilisation and performance leveraging (value for money) across Palladium
- Ensure financial compliance with client contracting regulations and maintain awareness of changes in obligations and markets shifts in financial assessment
- Ensure that that systems are in place and functioning to identify and mitigate project financial risk and to track realise risks
- Review financial metrics for bid proposals and provide pricing support and advice as required
- Manage opportunities to brainstorm and develop new or improved templates, reports and processes that provide valuable insights, increase efficiency and build capacity
- Perform other tasks that may be assigned from time to time
Key Competencies Required
- Extensive experience in project and business financial planning/management preferably within both small and large organisations as well as reflecting professional services activities
- Understanding of accounting standards of Australia
- Strong people management experience, including setting clear performance objectives, managing for results, giving and receiving feedback, performance evaluation and mentoring and coaching employees
- Demonstrated personal and situational awareness to build stakeholder confidence and positive relationships with individuals across all levels and areas of the firm
- Quick learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys challenges and problem solving and proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement
- Strong analytical problem solving skills required
- Ability to analyse large data sets of financial or other numerical data and prepare reports
- Understanding of project accounting and linkages to project management
- Ability in developing project financial models
- In-depth understanding of financial risk assessment and monitoring
- Proven ability to convey financial concepts to non-financial managers (training, coaching, tool development)
- Knowledge of contracting structures and regulations
Professional Expertise / Competencies Preferred:
- CA or CPA preferred
- Working knowledge of Deltek CostPoint, COBRA and PM Compass ERPs strongly preferred
