Jewish Story Partners is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
whose mission is to stimulate and support the highest caliber
independent documentaries that use fresh, nuanced perspectives to
tell stories about the diverse spectrum of Jewish experiences,
cultures, and encounters. Launched in 2021, Jewish Story Partners
is a philanthropic foundation providing approximately $1M in annual
grants and a continuum of support to the highest-caliber U.S.film
projects exploring Jewish themes.
The Manager, Individual Giving and Events will
manage and oversee Jewish Story Partners’ individual giving
benefits program as well as the operations supporting donor
stewardship and cultivation activities and events. This is an
exempt, full-time position based in Los Angeles,
with a hybrid in-person/remote schedule.
Essential duties and responsibilities shall include, but
are not limited to the following areas:
Events Management
- Plan, budget, implement, and wrap multiple in-person and
virtual special events and screenings annually. - Plan and organize film festival special screenings and
touchpoint opportunities for JSP donors as they arise throughout
the year.
Donor Relations and Prospect Cultivation
- Plan, manage, and implement donor benefits and stewardship
activities including donor communications, JSP Film Club
activities, touchpoints, and prepping staff leadership. - Plan, manage, and facilitate individual giving prospect
cultivation efforts including prospect research, preparing senior
staff for meetings and events, and managing follow-up. - Prepare, manage, and lead internal prospect tracking meetings
including reports, data input, and follow-up.
Fundraising Operations
- Monitor, maintain accuracy, and update all fundraising
materials, including website and publications. - Support JSP team members’ donor interface by creating meeting
reports and distributing updated donor materials. - Input data and work with consultant to update donor database
(Salesforce) on an ongoing basis. - Schedule donor meetings and calls.
Board Management
- Manage board activities including board meetings, committee
meetings, ongoing communications, onboarding, and board engagement
in individual fundraising and events.
Desired qualifications and skills:
- 3-5 years of event management experience.
- 3-5 years of experience working in donor relations within a
non-profit fundraising setting. - Work experience demonstrating attention to detail, strong
organizational skills, independent decision-making ability, and
accuracy in recording and issuing information. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated discretion with high-profile stakeholders.
- Ease and skill with Google Suite, spreadsheets, databases,
design software. - We seek a collaborative, self-motivated, entrepreneurial
people-person with a solid, focused work ethic, who is willing to
embrace the unpredictable tasks that inevitably arise in a small,
rapidly growing non-profit start-up. A sense of humor can’t hurt
either! - Interest in the arts, documentary film, Jewish culture, and
relationships in the Jewish community are a plus.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This is a full time, exempt position based in Los Angeles,
California. This position is expected to work on-site at the JSP
office three days per week. JSP offers a competitive salary, health
benefits, 403(b) retirement plan and generous vacation and sick
leave policies. Salary range for the role is $78,000 – $84,240.
