Job Overview:
The Manager IT Procurement and Cost Optimization supports the identification, execution, tracking, and reporting of operational cost optimization initiatives. The Manager will work with the Senior Project Manager, Finance; the Senior Manager, IT Global Procurement; and key global collaborators to successfully identify and implement cost optimization opportunities through strategic procurement and operational changes to business processes and systems. This position will report to Senior Project Manager, Finance.
Major Responsibilities/Job Requirements:
•Conducts Procurement and Cost Optimization Analysis: Works with project team members and constituents to analyze and define IT Procurement and Cost Optimization opportunities.
•Facilitates Procurement across categories: Works with Global IT Procurement to facilitate RFIs, RFPs, and to deliver on key contracts.
•Supports Project Engagement: Works with project team members and collaborators to define expectations and deliver savings realization.
•Supports Business Process improvements including policy, procedures and controls: Works with project team members and collaborators to drive long-term savings realization through changes to policy, procedures and controls.
•Leads Project Reporting: Prepares reporting of opportunities, realization, and categorization of cost savings opportunities. Prepares written reports to leadership.
•Provides Project Administration: Participates in program team meetings, proactively documents meeting minutes, records issues, and follows-up between meetings to drive actions to closure.
•Supports Risk Management: Maintains documentation for procurement risk management and compliance.
Work Experience:
•5+ years experience in high performing global procurement environments
•Experience with cost optimization initiatives
•A combination of corporate and NGO experience is preferred
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
Must Have:
•Extensive IT Procurement Experience: In-depth knowledge of various IT categories, including but not limited to hardware (servers, networking equipment), software (licenses, applications), and IT services (consulting, outsourcing).
•Cloud Service Procurement: Experience in procuring cloud-based services, understanding the nuances of contracts, licensing models, and security considerations associated with cloud technologies.
•Global Sourcing and Practices: Experience in global IT procurement initiatives, with a focus on sourcing from domestic and international markets, understanding regional differences, and demonstrating global economies of scale.
•Software Licensing and Compliance: Expertise in defining and handling software licensing agreements, ensuring compliance with licensing terms and optimizing software usage across the organization.
•Negotiation Skills: Strong skills specific to IT contracts, including navigating pricing models, licensing terms, and service level agreements.
•Cost Optimization: Track record of implementing IT Procurement cost optimization strategies, finding opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or service.
•IT Vendor Sourcing Process Execution and Improvement: Fully experienced in implementing and improving process around IT vendor RFP development and distribution, IT vendor evaluation and selection, contract reviews, and ongoing vendor performance monitoring.
•Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

•Certifications: Professional procurement certifications (CPM) or IT procurement, such as Certified IT Procurement Professional (CITPP), demonstrating a commitment to professional development and industry standards.

•Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Knowledge of procurement practices that support disaster recovery and business continuity planning, ensuring IT systems are resilient in the face of disruptions.
•Supplier Diversity and Social Responsibility: Awareness of and dedication to promoting supplier diversity and social responsibility within the IT procurement process, aligning with the organization’s values.

Compensation:
Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
