About the Role

Be the subject matter expert in receiving and recording philanthropic income for one of Australia’s largest not-for-profit organisations. Design and manage elegant processes that enable the flow of gifts and pledges through our systems, ensuring every donation is promptly received, classified and recorded according to industry standards.

Partner with our fundraisers on significant and exciting philanthropic opportunities, and collaborate with key players across Finance, Donor Relations, and beyond, fostering a spirit of teamwork that tackles any challenge head-on.

Create lasting value by optimising philanthropic operations and driving continuous improvement across our processes to improve efficiency, impact, and the overall donor experience.

Who we are looking for
A future leader in our team who is responsible, values optimisation and delivering an exceptional customer service. An individual who is proactive, thrives on understanding “how things tick”, and explores a range of options, strategically weighing the pros and cons.

You’ll have excellent comprehension and attention to detail, particularly with interpreting and applying reporting and classification frameworks guided by industry standards.

You’re a digital native who intuitively understands how digital systems work allowing you to identify realistic improvements to our digital tools and engage effectively with our technology teams.

You will also have:

  • Appropriate postgraduate qualifications in Business, Accountancy or Engineering, or a relevant discipline together with moderate experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training per the current Enterprise Agreement classifications.
  • Aptitude and confidence working with and reconciling large transactional datasets in enterprise systems and Microsoft Excel using a range of functions and formulas.
  • A proven ability to operate discretely and appropriately in relation to sensitive information.

Desirable

  • CPA or CA-qualified, or similar, or working towards qualification
  • Experience with processing financial transactions in a high-volume environment.
  • Mature stakeholder management and interpersonal skills demonstrated by building strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders outside of the immediate team

About Advancement
The Advancement Office aims to facilitate the establishment and maintenance of mutually beneficial relationships between the University and its alumni, friends, and benefactors. It is responsible for the management of programs relating to alumni and benefactors and provides services to and works collaboratively with faculties and other central administration areas.
