Foundation House is looking for a passionate and energetic Manager, Practice Development to lead its Practice Development Team. The Practice Development Team works across all areas of Foundation House providing reflective supervision, case consultation, professional learning and training opportunities for the Foundation House staff as well as actively working to build the capacity of the sector to work with communities from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds. The role is also responsible for connecting lived experience with practice through its community and client participation work participation portfolio.

Day to day the Manager, Practice Development is primarily responsible for:

  • Leading the design, delivery and implementation of practice development support and programs for all Foundation House staff in collaboration and partnership with the broader leadership team.
  • Lead the design and delivery of external training aimed at supporting the work of the sector and broader mental health and wellbeing services to deliver trauma-informed care to communities from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds.
  • Leading the coordination of quality improvement initiatives for the organisation’s service delivery arms.
  • Leading the coordination and reporting of performance and quality measures to inform quality improvement initiatives and maintain a focus on practice excellence.

This position plays a key role in ensuring that our client, community capacity building, sector development support is of the highest quality and in accordance with the Foundation House Integrated Trauma Recovery Service Model, Rebuilding Shattered Lives, and international best practice.

This role is a full-time, ongoing position based in our Brunswick Head Office; some travel to our other Melbourne offices may be required.

What you’ll need to successfully apply

To be successful, you will need to positively respond to the below selection criteria:

  • Post graduate qualification in psychology, counselling, social work or other related disciplines, with a practice and quality improvement focus.
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of and delivering professional learning and training in working with complex trauma.
  • Leadership experience in managing and overseeing complex clinical and psychosocial assessments, case planning and counselling and advocacy responses to people with complex trauma experiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in community and sector capacity-building programs, as well as quality improvement initiatives.
